Event Organisers

If you’re already planning an event for Friday, 21 June 2013 or would like to create one as part of Fête de la Musique celebrations, you can register your event to be included in our program.

Under the terms of the Fête de la Musique International Charter, all events must be free to attend. Any event charging an entry fee cannot be included in Fête de la Musique.

Please email fetedelamusique@brisbane.qld.gov.au to discuss your event with us.

How to get involved

As an event organiser, your role will be to source, organise and coordinate any musicians, venues and volunteers participating in your event.

You will also need to ensure that you have obtained the relevant permissions and permits for your venues. Council’s Festival and Events Liaison Office can assist with any permits and help co-ordinate Council approvals for community events held in the city of Brisbane. You can contact Council on 133 BNE or (07) 3403 8888.

When organising musicians and venues, we suggest you consider the technical requirements. For instance, it may be simpler to program acoustic musicians (i.e. requiring no power or amplification) or those with a simple technical set up. Venues (and your budget or lack thereof!) may have sound or technical restrictions.

Don’t forget to register your event so that you can be included in the official Fête de la Musique program and marketing campaign.

While your event will be included in the program and as part of Council’s Fête de la Musique marketing campaign, feel free to complement our efforts with your own local, targeted promotional activity as well.

Registrations for Fête de la Musique Brisbane 2013 are now open and close 3 May 2013.
